Notable news agencies have withdrawn a photograph provided by Kensington Palace featuring Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, and her three children, alleging that the image is suspected of digital manipulation. Photo distributors, who all reacted to the Mother’s Day photo are Reuters, the Associated Press, Getty, and AFP. According to a “kill notification” issued by Associate Press, “At closer inspection, it appears that the source has manipulated the image.” The Agence France-Presse agency instructed immediate removal of the image from all platforms from all online platforms after removing the image, citing “an editorial issue”. “It has come to light that this handout photo… issued by Kensington Palace today of the Princess of Wales and her kids had been altered and therefore it was withdrawn from AFP systems,” AFP wrote in a note.
