Sidharth Malhotra has cemented himself as the quintessential action hero with films like Shehshaah and Aiyaary. Not that he should be pigeonholed into one box, but it seems like the action genre is where he is most comfortable. With his recent action thriller, Yodha, Malhotra has proven again that he is the first choice when Bollywood wants to pack a punch. Yodha is about Arun Khatyal who follows in his father’s footsteps to join special task force, Yodha. But, when one of his missions goes haywire, he is somehow placed on a hijacked plane under mysterious circumstances. All evidence points to him being on a revenge mission against the system that has taken everything from him. Is he on a path of revenge or is truly a patriot? After playing national heroes like Vikram Batra in Shehshaah and Lieutenant Major Jai Bakshi in Aiyaary, Malhotra comfortably takes on the role of Arun with ease and keeps your attention throughout the film. He’s so good that we forget that he is just playing a role. The leading ladies Raashii Khanna and Disha Patani also hold their own. ‘Yodha’ is a unique action-thriller that leaves you with many questions and on an adrenaline rushed rollercoaster ride.
