PVRINOX Pictures is excited to announce the upcoming release of Longlegs, a murder-mystery horror film starring Nicolas Cage and Maika Monroe, set to premiere in Indian theatres on July 12th, just in time for the spooky season. Directed by Osgood Perkins, Longlegs promises to captivate audiences with its eerie themes and suspenseful storyline.
Longlegs follows the journey of prodigal detective Agent Lee Harker (Maika Monroe) as she investigates a series of unsolved murders. Harker uncovers cryptic clues left by a cunning and notorious serial killer known as ‘Longlegs’ (Nicolas Cage). As the investigation intensifies, Harker’s pursuit of the killer becomes a dangerous game of cat and mouse, with innocent lives hanging in the balance. The film also features Blair Underwood, Alicia Witt, Michelle Choi-Lee, and Dakota Daulby.
In a recent interview, Maika Monroe shared insights into her portrayal of Agent Lee Harker, revealing her inspirations for the character. “Obviously, Silence of the Lambs is a massive influence on this film as a whole,” Monroe explained. “But I also drew a lot from Rooney Mara’s performance in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Both characters feel like outsiders in their worlds, unsure of where they fit in, yet finding purpose in solving crimes.”
Director Osgood Perkins praised Monroe’s portrayal of Harker, highlighting her unique abilities. “Lee Harker demonstrates extraordinary intuition and mental acuity,” Perkins noted. “Her perception test scores are off the charts, making her uniquely equipped to unravel the mystery.”
Longlegs has already garnered critical acclaim, earning a ‘100% Fresh’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The film pays homage to classic horror with its blend of cult fiction and surrealistic elements, ensuring audiences will be on the edge of their seats from start to finish.
