‘Silence of the Lambs,’ ‘Dragon Tattoo’ inspired Maika Monroe’s role in Nicolas Cage’s upcoming ‘Longlegs’

PVRINOX Pictures is excited to announce the upcoming release of Longlegs, a murder-mystery horror film starring Nicolas Cage and Maika Monroe, set to premiere in Indian theatres on July 12th, just in time for the spooky season. In a recent interview, Maika Monroe shared insights into her portrayal of Agent Lee Harker, revealing her inspirations for the character. “Obviously, Silence of the Lambs is a massive influence on this film as a whole,” Monroe explained. “But I also drew a lot from Rooney Mara’s performance in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Both characters feel like outsiders in their worlds, unsure of where they fit in, yet finding purpose in solving crimes.”

Director Osgood Perkins praised Monroe’s portrayal of Harker, highlighting her unique abilities. “Lee Harker demonstrates extraordinary intuition and mental acuity,” Perkins noted. “Her perception test scores are off the charts, making her uniquely equipped to unravel the mystery.”

Longlegs has already garnered critical acclaim, earning a ‘100% Fresh’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The film pays homage to classic horror with its blend of cult fiction and surrealistic elements, ensuring audiences will be on the edge of their seats from start to finish.
