Banijay Asia announced that it has signed a deal with distributor All3Media International to create an Indian adaptation of the popular drama series, “The Tourist,” according to Deadline report. The original series, starring Jamie Dornan, was penned by Harry and Jack Williams, known for “Rellik” and “Boat Story,” and produced by Two Brothers Pictures and Highview Productions.

The plot of “The Tourist” revolves around an Irishman who wakes up in an Australian hospital with amnesia following a car crash. As he searches for answers, he encounters a local woman who remembers him and offers to help him rediscover his identity. Together, they uncover clues that hint at a dark past, from which he must escape before it catches up with him.

Distributed by All3Media International, the original series has been broadcast across five continents, with production partners including BBC One in the UK, Stan in Australia, and ZDF in Germany. It has also reached audiences in the USA, Canada, Latin America, South Korea, and the Nordics.

Eralier, Banijay Asia has produced scripted adaptations, including “The Night Manager,” “The Trial,” and “Call My Agent Bollywood.” They have also created original series such as “Aarya,” “Dahan,” “Matsya Kaand,” “Bombay Begums,” and “Trial By Fire.”
