The Television Academy announced the nominations for the 76th Emmy® Awards today at the historic El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. The ceremony, hosted by Emmy winners Tony Hale and Sheryl Lee Ralph along with Television Academy Chair Cris Abrego, recognized outstanding programs, extraordinary performances, and impactful storytelling across various platforms.
With nearly 22,000 Academy members casting their votes, this year’s nominations highlight an impressive array of talent and diverse programming. Despite a year of significant challenges and changes in the television landscape, the nominations celebrate the exceptional work of performers, producers, writers, directors, and craftspeople from the 2023-2024 eligibility year.

Record-Breaking Nominations
“The Bear” set a new record for the most nominations in a single year in the Comedy category with 23, surpassing the previous record of 22 held by “30 Rock” in 2009. Leading the Drama category, “Shōgun” garnered an impressive 25 nominations.

Special Highlights

Upcoming Events
The 76th Emmy Awards, produced by Jesse Collins, Dionne Harmon, and Jeannae Rouzan-Clay, will be broadcast live on ABC on Sunday, September 15, from the Peacock Theater at L.A. LIVE, with streaming available the next day on Hulu. The Creative Arts Emmy Awards will take place on September 7 and 8, with an edited presentation airing on September 14 on FXX. Final-round online voting begins on August 15, 2024.
