The Media House Global, a creative comms agency has been nominated for the prestigious Media Agency of the Year category at the 2024 Asian Media Awards. The finalists were announced at the headquarters of EssenceMediacom in London, marking the 12th year of the awards, which celebrate excellence across journalism, TV, radio, stage, online, and creative media. Other finalist for Media Agency of the Year category includes Curzon PR, House of Advertising, Ethnic Reach and Podlounge. Supported by the University of Salford, the awards ceremony will take place on 25 October at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate. The event showcases the work of both national and regional media organizations, alongside independent production teams and freelance professionals, highlighting their contributions to the UK’s diverse media landscape. EssenceMediacom’s Board Director, Sanjay Shabi, welcomed the guests at the finalists’ announcement event, while speeches were delivered by artist and producer Dawinder Bansal and Paul Broster, Associate Dean Academic at the University of Salford’s School of Arts, Media and Creative Technology. Reflecting on the significance of the event, an Asian Media Awards spokesperson said, “Over the past eleven years the awards have helped to shine a light on a range of issues through in-depth investigation, reports, programming and live productions. This year is no different and comes at a time when the importance of diversity within newsrooms and storylines is more important than ever.” Sanjay Shabi, also a panel member for the awards, emphasized the critical role the awards play in recognizing diverse talent, stating, “The awards shine a spotlight on the exceptional talent within the South Asian media community, from journalists and content creators to broadcasters and producers, invaluably reflecting the multicultural tapestry of Britain’s modern media marketplace.” In addition to category awards, five special accolades will recognize the outstanding contributions of actors, journalists, writers, and broadcasters who have helped shape the media industry through their influential work. The nomination of Media House Global highlights the agency’s innovative approach and dedication to creative media solutions, furthering the commitment to diversity and excellence within the UK’s media sector.
