Hulu has officially released the trailer and key art for its inaugural Spanish-language Original series, La Máquina, featuring acclaimed actors Gael García Bernal, Diego Luna, and Eiza González. The series is set to debut with all six episodes on 9th October, 2024. La Máquina follows Esteban “La Máquina” Osuna, played by Bernal, who finds himself at a low point in his boxing career following a devastating loss. His manager and best friend, Andy Lujan, portrayed by Luna, is determined to help him reclaim his former glory. However, as a dangerous organization emerges, the stakes escalate to life or death. While striving for a comeback, Esteban must confront personal demons and protect his family, including his ex-wife Irasema (González), a journalist who becomes entangled with the dark underbelly of the boxing world.Watch the trailer here: The cast also includes Jorge Perugorría, Andrés Delgado, Karina Gidi, Dariam Coco, and Lucía Méndez. La Máquina is produced by Searchlight Television and the production company La Corriente del Golfo, co-founded by Bernal and Luna, known for their previous collaborations on films like Y tu mamá también and Coco. The series will stream as a Hulu Original in the U.S. and is helmed by executive producer and showrunner Marco Ramirez, recognized for his work on Daredevil. Other executive producers include Bernal, Luna, Gabriel Ripstein, Gerardo Gatica, Leandro Halperín, Adam Fishbach, and Kyzza Terrazas. The series is directed by Gabriel Ripstein, known for his films 600 Miles and An Unknown Enemy. With this new series, Hulu aims to broaden its offerings and engage Spanish-speaking audiences, setting a precedent for future projects in the growing landscape of diverse storytelling.
