Stoked Bros Media, the production company co-founded by former NBA player Jarnell Stokes, has secured a partnership with Germany’s ORWO, which will co-produce, co-finance, and oversee post-production for a trio of upcoming projects. As per Deadline exclusive report, the deal also includes handling international sales for the films over the next six months.

Leading the slate is Break the Cycle, an urban thriller featuring Cuba Gooding Jr., Vivica A. Fox, and Loretta Devine. The project is a screenwriting debut of Jarnell Stokes. The film centers on two brothers in Memphis—one aiming for the NBA, while the other faces the dangerous pull of street crime. Currently in post-production, Break the Cycle is the first project in the new partnership.

ORWO, a media company with over a century of history, operates across nine countries, handling film stock manufacturing, camera production, and more. They also own Black Hangar Studios in the UK, further enhancing their global reach.

The two companies are already preparing for the next film in the slate, which is currently in pre-production.

Jarnell Stokes expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, said, “This is just the start of a relationship where I see no boundaries to our partnership. We look forward to a successful collaboration with ORWO and together producing exceptional films with mass appeal and worldwide box office potential.”

ORWO Principal Jake Seal added, “Stoked Bros Media is an up-and-coming company with an incredible gift for storytelling. We’re excited about this partnership and working with them to bring their powerful, engaging stories to audiences around the world.”

Stoked Bros Media was founded in 2022 by Jarnell and his brother Isiah Stokes, with Aisha Wynn and Franklyn Harris joining the team shortly after. Jarnell, a former NBA player drafted by the Utah Jazz in 2014 and later traded to the Memphis Grizzlies, is now making waves in the film industry.
