Peacock has released the first footage from Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy, a revealing new documentary about Sean “Diddy” Combs. The special, set to premiere on Tuesday, 14 January, pulls back the curtain on the disgraced rap mogul’s tumultuous life, offering a deep dive into his rise to fame, criminal charges, and ongoing legal battles. The 90-minute documentary begins with stark revelations from those closest to Combs, who share their candid perspectives on the incarcerated mogul. Arrested on 16 September in a New York hotel lobby, Combs is currently facing charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Denied bail multiple times, his trial is scheduled to begin on 5 May. “Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy sheds light on his childhood, rise to fame, and recent criminal allegations, challenging viewers to rethink everything they thought they knew about the mogul behind the music—and the mugshot,” according to Peacock’s official description. Watch the official trailer here: The documentary features exclusive, never-before-seen footage of Combs at home, in the studio, and partying, alongside revealing interviews with people who knew him best. Among those speaking out are a childhood friend, a former bodyguard, and a winner from his hit reality series Making the Band. Singer, songwriter, and producer Al B. Sure!, who was both a label mate at Uptown Records and romantically linked to Kim Porter before she began dating Diddy, also breaks his silence for the first time. Produced by Ample Entertainment, Blink Films, and FGW Productions, the special is executive produced by Ari Mark, Phil Lott, Sumit David, Stephanie Frederic, Laura Jones, and Justine Kershaw, with Sara Lavery serving as co-executive producer.
