Apple TV+ has unveiled a first look at SAG and Golden Globe Award-winner Anya Taylor-Joy in the titular role of its highly anticipated limited series “Lucky.” Based on the New York Times bestselling novel of the same name, the series hails from Apple Studios and Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine and is created by Jonathan Tropper. Anya Taylor-Joy as “Lucky” in the Apple TV+ series “Lucky” Production for “Lucky” officially kicked off this week in Las Vegas before moving to Los Angeles for the remainder of filming. The series follows a young woman (Taylor-Joy) who distanced herself from the world of crime she was raised in. However, she must now return to her darker past for one final job in a desperate attempt to break free for good. Joining Taylor-Joy is an all-star ensemble, including multi-Academy and Emmy Award nominee and SAG and Golden Globe Award-winner Annette Bening as “Priscilla,” Academy, Emmy, and Golden Globe Award nominee Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor as “Billie,” Timothy Olyphant as “John,” and Drew Starkey as “Cary,” Lucky’s husband. The series is co-showrun, written, and executive produced by Jonathan Tropper (“Your Friends & Neighbors,” “See,” “The Adam Project”) through his Tropper Ink banner, under his overall deal with Apple TV+. Cassie Pappas (“Silo,” “Griselda”) joins as co-showrunner and executive producer. Drew Starkey as “Cary” in the Apple TV+ series “Lucky” Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter executive produce for Hello Sunshine, a part of Candle Media, while Anya Taylor-Joy serves as an executive producer through her production banner, Ladykiller. Jonathan Van Tulleken (“Presumed Innocent,” “House of the Dragon”) will direct multiple episodes, including the pilot, and serve as an executive producer. Additionally, Emmy Award-winner Greg Yaitanes (“Presumed Innocent,” “House of the Dragon,” “Your Friends & Neighbors”) and Jet Wilkinson (“Before,” “The Old Man,” “How to Get Away with Murder”) will each direct two episodes. With a powerhouse cast, top-tier creative team, and a gripping storyline, “Lucky” is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated limited series on Apple TV+.
