Sky has announced the upcoming debut of Mountainhead, a Sky Exclusive original film written, directed, and executive produced by seven-time Emmy® winner and Oscar®-nominated screenwriter Jesse Armstrong (Succession). Marking Armstrong’s feature directorial debut, the film is set to premiere on 1 June, with production wrapping up this week in the cinematic landscape of Park City, Utah.

A Darkly Comic Take on Crisis and Capitalism

Mountainhead follows a group of billionaire friends as they reunite against the dramatic backdrop of a spiraling international crisis. Set in a secluded, wintry retreat, the film explores themes of wealth, morality, and detachment with Armstrong’s signature wit and sharp social commentary.

The ensemble cast is led by Oscar® and eleven-time Emmy® nominee Steve Carell (The Four Seasons, The Patient) as Randall, alongside Jason Schwartzman (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, Bored to Death) as Hugo Van Yalk (also known as “Souper”), Cory Michael Smith (Saturday Night, May December) as Venis, and Emmy® nominee Ramy Youssef (Poor Things, More Feelings) as Jeff.

Rounding out the cast are Hadley Robinson as Hester, Andy Daly as Casper, Ali Kinkade as Berry, Daniel Oreskes as Dr. Phipps, David Thompson as Leo, Ami MacKenzie as Janine, and Ava Kostia as Paula.
