The much-anticipated trailer for Kesari Chapter 2 has officially dropped, offering a gripping and emotional look into one of the most overlooked yet pivotal chapters in Indian history. Starring Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday, and R. Madhavan, the historical courtroom drama shines a light on the legal and moral reckoning that followed the tragic Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1919.
Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, Kesari Chapter 2 chronicles the extraordinary courage of C. Sankaran Nair, a fearless lawyer who stood up to the British Empire in a landmark legal battle. Set in the aftermath of the massacre, the trailer immerses viewers into the turbulent political climate of the time, highlighting the firestorm that erupted when Nair sought justice for the lives lost and challenged the powerful forces behind the brutality.

The film is based on the acclaimed book The Case That Shook the Empire: One Man’s Fight for the Truth about the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre by Raghu and Pushpa Palat. In what promises to be one of his most commanding performances, Akshay Kumar plays Nair, while R. Madhavan steps into the role of Sir Michael O’Dwyer, the former lieutenant governor of Punjab and a key architect of the massacre. Ananya Panday plays a young, idealistic lawyer who joins Nair’s mission, adding further emotional depth and generational contrast to the narrative.
The trailer teases high-octane courtroom confrontations, stirring speeches, and a fearless pursuit of truth in the face of colonial oppression. Rich in historical detail and cinematic intensity, Kesari Chapter 2 aims not only to entertain but to inform and ignite dialogue around a crucial yet often overlooked moment in India’s independence struggle.
Produced by Dharma Productions, Cape of Good Films, and Leo Media Collective, and distributed internationally by Moviegoers Entertainment, Kesari Chapter 2 is set to release in cinemas worldwide on 18th April 2025.
With a riveting plot, compelling performances, and a powerful message, Kesari Chapter 2 is poised to be one of the year’s most talked-about films—honoring a hero whose defiance helped shape the course of history.
