Fresh off the success of Border 2, Sunny Deol has lined up his next untitled action thriller that will pair him with Jyotika for the first time. The film is scheduled to begin shooting in February 2026 and is being jointly produced by Farhan Akhtar and AR Murugadoss.
The upcoming project will be directed by Balaji Ganesh, marking his debut as a filmmaker. The film also represents the first collaboration between Farhan Akhtar and AR Murugadoss as co-producers, a combination that has already generated considerable industry buzz. While details about the storyline remain under wraps, the makers are positioning the film as a gritty, high-octane action thriller.
Although the official title is yet to be announced, images of the project’s clapboard have hinted at the name Antony. It remains unclear whether this will be the final title or simply a working one. Reports suggest that Ganesh has previously worked as an assistant director under AR Murugadoss, including on the Salman Khan–Rashmika Mandanna starrer Sikandar.
Deol is currently riding high on the box office performance of Border 2, directed by Anurag Singh. The film, a standalone sequel to the 1997 classic Border, is set against the backdrop of the 1971 India–Pakistan war and depicts coordinated military operations by the Indian Army, Air Force and Navy. Deol plays Lt. Col. Fateh Singh Kaler and shares screen space with Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty, alongside several other actors in key roles.
Beyond this project, Deol also has Lahore 1947, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, in the pipeline, along with an upcoming Ramayana film series.
Jyotika, meanwhile, was last seen in the web series Dabba Cartel, where she played a central role. The crime drama followed a group of women who secretly run a drug cartel under the guise of a food delivery business and featured an ensemble cast including Shabana Azmi and Nimisha Sajayan.
With a first-time pairing, a debut director and seasoned producers at the helm, the Sunny Deol–Jyotika collaboration is shaping up as one of the more anticipated action projects slated for 2026.
