Aamir Khan Productions unveils Batwara 1947, starring Sunny Deol; film to release on 14 August 2026

Aamir Khan Productions has just dropped a major surprise with the motion poster of their upcoming film Batwara 1947, starring Sunny Deol. Intense, gripping and deeply evocative, the motion poster offers a first glimpse into a story rooted in courage, determination and resilience. 

The film brings together a stellar ensemble cast featuring Shabana Azmi, Preity G Zinta, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal, Abhimanyu Singh, Khhushi Hajare and Kanikka Kapur supported by a highly acclaimed creative team, promising audiences a one-of-a-kind cinematic experience.

Set against the backdrop of one of history’s most turbulent chapters, Batwara 1947 tells the story of a man who chose courage in times of hatred and fear. 

Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker, Rajkumar Santoshi, Batwara 1947 marks the much-awaited reunion of Santoshi and Sunny Deol after nearly three decades. 

This iconic director-actor duo have previously delivered some of the most memorable  blockbusters of all time like Ghayal, Damini and Ghatak. The motion poster has further heightened excitement among audiences eager to witness this story on the big screen.
