Emraan Hashmi’s ‘Awarapan 2’ Begins Musical Journey With Soulful Track ‘Ve Junoon’

The makers of Awarapan 2 have released the film’s first song, “Ve Junoon”, launching the sequel’s musical campaign with an emotional track that explores grief, healing and the possibility of finding love again.

The original Awarapan (2007) earned a devoted cult following not only for its story but also for its memorable soundtrack. Songs such as Toh Phir Aao and Tera Mera Rishta became synonymous with heartbreak and perfectly complemented Emraan Hashmi’s portrayal of the brooding protagonist. Nearly two decades later, the sequel aims to revisit that musical legacy with Ve Junoon.

The song has been composed by Mithoon, with lyrics by Sayeed Quadri and vocals by Subodhh Sharma. The track captures the emotional turmoil of Shivam Pandit, played once again by Emraan Hashmi, as he struggles to move on from the loss of his partner, Aaliyah Hamid, portrayed by Shriya Saran.

The accompanying music video offers a glimpse into Shivam’s emotional state, showing him haunted by memories of happier times while coping with overwhelming grief. As he turns to alcohol and wrestles with anger and inner conflict, the visuals depict a man confronting painful questions about love, loss and whether he is capable of opening his heart again.

At the same time, Ve Junoon hints at a turning point in Shivam’s journey. The narrative introduces Disha Patani’s character through a cello performance that captures Shivam’s attention, suggesting the beginning of a new emotional chapter. While the song does not reveal how their paths eventually cross, it lays the foundation for a relationship that could reshape his future.

The lyrics, “Phir Ishq Karne Chalu Kyu,” reflect Shivam’s fragile state of mind. Scarred by his past, he appears to be slowly moving toward self-forgiveness and considering whether love deserves another chance despite the fear of experiencing heartbreak once again.

As the haunting refrain, “Ve Junoon,” echoes throughout the track, the song underscores themes of redemption, resilience and emotional renewal.
