Dogwoof has today launched the official trailer for The Cycle Of Love, the latest film by Academy Award-winning Director, Orlando von Einsiedel, starring Mumbai-born British stage and screen actor, Chirag Benedict Lobo (West End’s LIFE OF PI, ITV’s ENDEAVOUR) as PK, bringing to life one of India’s most extraordinary true love stories, an epic tale of destiny, perseverance and the enduring power of following your heart. Executive produced by Priyanka Chopra Jonas, the film releases in UK & Irish cinemas nationwide on 18th September 2026, following its World Premiere at the Telluride Film Festival, where it captivated audiences.

Based on the remarkable true story of renowned Indian artist, PK Mahanandia, The Cycle Of Love follows PK, a 23-year-old Delhi street artist from a poor, ‘untouchable’ family, who, in 1977, picked up a handful of paintbrushes and a second-hand bicycle to embark on an extraordinary 6,000-mile, cross-continent journey to find Lotta, the Swedish woman who had captured his heart during her visit to India. Set against the backdrop of 1970s India, his remarkable journey becomes a powerful story of hope, resilience and the belief that love can overcome even the greatest obstacles.

A love story shaped by destiny, The Cycle Of Love is an inspiring, heart-warming, epic true-life adventure about the search for self-belief and risking everything for what your heart tells you and following the path of your fate. 

Lobo takes on the lead role of PK, delivering a heartfelt performance that captures the optimism, vulnerability and unwavering determination of the young Delhi artist. His portrayal shines a light on one of India’s most remarkable, real-life love stories, introducing PK’s extraordinary journey to a new generation of audiences.

With exclusive access, the multiple Academy Award-winning team behind Virunga, The White Helmets and Learning To Skateboard In A Warzone (If You’re A Girl) brings this beautiful, thrilling and life-affirming tale to life. The filmmakers were granted access to PK and Lotta’s personal archive of photographs, home videos and a collection of handwritten love letters, allowing the story to be told with authenticity and intimacy.
