Rain Spencer, Ariana Greenblatt to Lead Anne Hathaway-Produced ‘Little Five’

Rain Spencer and Ariana Greenblatt have been cast as the leads in Little Five, a new feature film backed by Anne Hathaway’s production banner, Somewhere Pictures, alongside Pigasus Pictures, according to a Deadline exclusive.

The film will be directed by Ian Samuels from a screenplay written by Gillian Williams and Paul Shoulberg. Additional casting announcements and production details have yet to be revealed.

Set at Indiana University in the early 1980s, Little Five is inspired by the legendary Little 500 bicycle race. The story centers on four young women from very different backgrounds who unite in pursuit of what seems like an impossible goal. As they compete for a chance to take part in one of America’s most celebrated collegiate sporting events, they learn that success comes through teamwork and that lasting change often begins with a single determined group.

Drawing inspiration from true events, the film explores a pivotal era marked by ambition, bold choices, memorable music, and the women who helped reshape the landscape of collegiate athletics.

Spencer continues to build her profile following her breakout role in Amazon’s hit series The Summer I Turned Pretty. She also earned the Best Performance award at the Tribeca Festival for Good Girl Jane and most recently appeared in Big Girls Don’t Cry, which premiered at Sundance earlier this year.

Greenblatt, meanwhile, remains one of Hollywood’s rising young stars after standout roles in Barbie and the upcoming Now You See Me: Now You Don’t.

With Hathaway’s Somewhere Pictures producing and a story rooted in real-life sporting history, Little Five adds another notable project to the growing slate of female-driven dramas currently in development.
