From across the globe to Indian screens – Namit Das has been finalised to play the lead in the Indian adaptation of Everybody Loves Raymond.
STAR Plus, India’s largest Hindi Entertainment Channel is all set to revolutionise the content on Indian Television – by bringing Hollywood one step closer to Indian screens. The channel has recently acquired the rights to the official adaptation of the globally popular sitcom – Everybody Loves Raymond. The Indian adaptation, in Hindi, will be titled Sumit Sambhal Lega, and actor Namit Das had been finalised to play the protagonist, Sumit; the Indian Raymond, whose predicament is one that men face universally – of getting stuck in family situations post marriage that gives rise to a comical extravaganza.
Namit elaborates, “A wife who seems to win all arguments, an overprotective mother – I have lived this and more. Now, are you ready to see what I go through every day? Welcome to the Desi Raymond – Sumit Sambhal Lega!”
