Monday 27th February 2017 – Anushka Sharma has shared the latest song from her upcoming production venture, Phillauri. Titled Sahiba, the song recreates the timeless appeal of the Mirza-Sahiba folklore from Punjab, weaving the tale of unrequited love in a musically enticing, contemporary form. Written by Anvita Dutt, the song has a very sufi-romantic taste to it. Romy and Pawni Pandey have lent their voices for the song while Shashwat Sachdev has composed the music. “It is not everyday that you get to create a love ballad in a Bollywood film. Sahiba is a song that intends to show the depth of the love story of the two characters in Phillauri. It is simple, beautiful and poetic,” said the composer, Shashwat of Sahiba. Starring Anushka Sharma, Diljit Dosanjh, Suraj Sharma and Mehreen Pirzada. Phillauri is about a friendly ghost whose love story unfolds in the backdrop of a current day Punjabi wedding. Directed by debutant Anshai Lal, written by Anvita Dutt and produced by Fox Star Studios and Clean Slate Films (Anushka’s production banner with brother Karnesh Sharma), Phillauri is set to release worldwide on 24th March 2017.
