Singer, choreographer and performing artist, Shiamak Davar, to visit Buckingham Palace in London, for a special event organized by Queen Elizabeth II. The Dance Guru Shiamak Davar, along with Wendell Rodricks, Astad Deboo, Manish Mishra, amongst others will represent India to celebrate UK-India Year of Culture on February 27. The event is being organized by the British Council, together with the Indian High Commission in London, UK Cultural Institutions and their Indian counterparts. The event is a wonderful opportunity to strengthen the special cultural partnership between the two countries. 2017 will celebrate the dual occasion of Indian culture in UK and it also marks 70 years of Independence. The reception is expected to attract hundreds of guests from across various fields from UK and India. UK’s senior most Indian-origin minister will be among the key Cabinet ministers at the event. A chance to celebrate and explore more cultural ties and uniting countries through art and culture. India is still a home to 290 million of the world’s poorest people. So there is more that UK can do with regard to supporting poverty reduction, jobs and livelihood and economic development in India.
