Director Majid Majidi formidable looks for Ishaan Khatter in Beyond the Clouds

Friday 13^th April 2018 – Newcomer Ishaan Khatter will be seen sporting some interesting tattoos for his debut film Beyond The Clouds, out in cinemas next Friday.

Known for being a complete perfectionist and leaving no stone unturned to extract a formidable look and performance from his actors, Iranian autuer Majid Majidi – this time too – made sure his actors got into the skin of their characters.

Says an inside source,

“To get the perfect look for Ishaan’s character, Majidi wanted him to sport some tattoos on his body. Along with the producers, he met a few tattoo artists before selecting one for the job. He also did several sittings with the artist to select the perfect design. Ishaan too spent time with them trying different patterns.”

Ishaan will be seen sporting a barbed wire tattoo on his left arm and a scorpion tattoo on his neck. The positioning of the scorpion tattoo was also crucial to the story line of the film.

Written by maverick Indian filmmaker and screenwriter Vishal Bhardwaj, the film is set against the backdrop of Mumbai’s bustling streets and slums, the mise en scene at once colorfully playful and darkly sinister. Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman’s spirited soundtrack adds a further dimension to the drama thriller.

Oscar-nominated and award-winning Iranian director Majid Majidi’s cinematic journey into Indian cinema, Beyond the Clouds, releases in cinemas on 20^th April 2018.
