Daisy Ridley has denied any involvement in either of the forthcoming Star Wars trilogies. The Rise of Skywalker (December, 2019) has promised to tie up all of the loose threads that have been left throughout the franchise for over 40 years. But that doesn’t mean that the end is nigh for Star Wards. The buffs at Lucasfilm are putting their heads together to think up a brand new movie series within the universe with the two projects being lead by David Benioff & D.B. Weiss (Game of Thrones) and Rian Johnson. Kathleen Kennedy has stated that all three writers will be working together to work through the next few years of Star Wars extravaganzas, while keeping (most) fans happy. There have been release dates announced by Lucasfilms even if we don’t know the plot of the films or anything about them at all; December 2022, 2024, and 2026. The first releases will be from the minds of Benioff and Weiss but that is all that we know for now. What we do know is that we won’t be seeing Daisy in the movies any time soon. She says, “I mean, I can say I’m not in the next trilogy. No. I think, cause Rian always said…if it’s the Rian one…or it’s the guys that did Game of Thrones. I’m not sure. Whichever one it was, they always said it was going to be a separate story. So I’m not. No.” This doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s the last time we will see Rey, however, as her story could continue through other platforms such as TV spin offs or cartoons. But as for the blockbusters, she’s taking a backseat.
