Milo Ventimiglia has landed himself the role of Evel Kneievel in a limited series by the USA Network.
The series will be a biopic series that looks at the life of the daredevil who shocked the world in the 1970s. It will show the trials and successes that he had during his prepartion time for the Snake River Canyon jump that would make history.
It is written and produced by Etan Frankel alongside Ventmiglia and Russ Cundiff and many others.
The president of USA Network and SYFY, Chris McCumber said, “USA Network is known for big event series that celebrate heroes, rebels and icons, and what could be bigger than the story of one of the greatest thrill seekers of all time? The incredible life and journey of Evel Knievel lends itself to a dramatic retelling, and we are excited to be partnering with Milo, McG, UCP, Atlas and Wonderland to bring this iconic American tale to our viewers.”
With the rise of biopics in circulation, this is the first ever scripted series that will be based upon the life of the daredevil. He has been portrayed on the big screen before and played by the likes of himself, George Hamilton and George Eads.
It will be a new experience for Ventimiglia who has had popular TV roles in series such as ‘This is Us’, ‘Heroes’, ‘Gilmore Girls’ and many more. For his work in ‘This is Us’, he was nominated for three Emmy awards which shows how highly acclaimed his work in.
