Jeffrey Dean Morgan has earned himself the lead role in Shrine, an adaptation of the horror novel by James Herbert. Screen Gems, Ghost House and Rob Tapert will be producing while Evan Spiliotopoulos will be writing the script from the book and directing.
The story centres around a journalist who lost his place in the industry and is now disgraced. However, he then stumbles upon some miracles in a small town and uses them to drag his career back from the depths. Everything isn’t as it seems, though, and the ‘miracles’ certainly aren’t from God.
Production is due to commence in February 2020. Ghost House have previously worked with JDM back in 2012 on The Possession which amounted an incredible $85 million when only $14 million was the production budget.
JDM has been slowly creeping his way up onto the big screen with some minor roles but his portrayal of the bloodthirsty Negan in The Walking Dead has certainly sky-rocketed his career. Updates to follow as they arrive.
