Queen of Streaming: Taylor Swift emerges as first female artist to reach 100 million monthly Spotify listeners

American Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift hits another milestone on Tuesday as she emerged as the first female artist to reach 100 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

According to music streaming platform, Swift is now trailing behind Canadian singer The Weeknd, who became the first artist to reach 100 million monthly listeners in February.

Spotify announced the news on its social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) saying, “Queen behavior 👑 On August 29th, Taylor Swift became the first female artist in Spotify history to reach 100 million monthly listeners.”

Earlier in July, Swift became the first woman to have at least four albums—including Midnights, Lover, Folklore and Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) at the same time in the top 10 on Billboard’s 200 chart.

Also the singer-songwriter completed her first US leg of Eras Tour after traveling across the United States, performing for sold-out shows since March.

As Swift’s sixth headlining tour is approaching, the global pop star is expected to perform 146 shows across five continents, including returning to the US next year.

The signer announced her next recorded album from her catalog: 1989 (Taylor’s Version) during her shows at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on 9th August. The album will be released on 27th October.

“The 1989 album changed my life in countless ways, and it fills me with such excitement to announce that my version of it will be out October 27th,” Swift wrote on social media. “To be perfectly honest, this is my most FAVORITE re-record I’ve ever done because the 5 From The Vault tracks are so insane. I can’t believe they were ever left behind. But not for long!,” she added.
