Indian producer Sajid Nadiadwala is is all set to make an investment of INR 10 billion ($121 million) in UK-based film projects including his latest Housefull 5, which is said to be one of the most expensive movie in the franchise, according to Variety.
The investment into the entertainment projects is going to be star-studded with A-list actors from Bollywood.
Under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Housefull 5 is budgeted at $48 million (~400 crores). Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, shooting for the film will commence later this year in UK staring dynamic duo of Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh in leading roles.
The comedy franchise has enjoyed tremendous success on box office with the previous four films released in 2010, 2012, 2016, and 2019 collectively grossing a staggering $118 million.
Besides this, other films under Nadiadwala’s production house including Chandu Champion featuring Kartik Aaryan just finished its month-long shooting schedule in UK. The sports drama is directed and co-produced by the acclaimed director Kabir Khan. Additionally, a portion of Chhichhore, directed by Nitesh Tiwari was also shot in the United Kingdom. The producer’s previous hits, Judwaa 2 and ’83, also had significant portions filmed in the UK.
Along with UK Nadiadwala is keen to maintain his strong ties with Saudi Arabia, where the first three installments of his Baaghi franchise, led by Tiger Shroff, were filmed. Currently, Baaghi 4 is in the script stage and will continue this successful partnership, with production set to take place in Saudi Arabia.
