The third season of Yellowjackets will not be premiered until 2025, according to a Deadline report. Although the show was renewed for a third season in December 2022 before the season 2 release in March 2023.

The show is being delayed due to writers’ and actors’ strikes that pushed the production process of the psychological thriller. The pre-production was shut just a day after the WGA strike began last May.

Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson co-created the show that revolves around a group of teenagers involved in a plane crash set in 1996 and the aftermath of the accident years later.

The first season of Yellowjacket premiered in 2021 and since then has been receiving love and attention for its well-written script. It bagged seven Primetime Emmy Award nominations in its two seasons, including Outstanding Drama Series on Monday, losing to HBO’s ‘Succession’.

The cast of Yellowjackets features Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty, Liv Hewson, and Courtney Eaton in key roles in the 1996 era, while their counterparts in the 2021 era are played by Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress, Juliette Lewis, Christina Ricci, Lauren Ambrose and Simone Kessell.
