Kim Kardashian is not only spearheading the production but also starring in a documentary series centered on Elizabeth Taylor for the BBC. Passion Pictures, the producer of Searching for Sugar Man, is backing “Elizabeth Taylor: Rebel Superstar” [working title]. The series is being marketed globally by Fremantle. Passion Pictures had also recently caught the attention of Warner Bros. Discovery at Sundance for its documentary on Superman Christopher Reeve. Kardashian, alongside other notable figures such as Joan Collins and Margaret O’Brien, who had personal connections with Taylor, will feature in the three-part series airing on BBC Two and iPlayer. Additionally, Kardashian serves as an executive producer on the project. The series aims to uncover how one of Hollywood’s most iconic figures shaped the foundation of contemporary celebrity culture. Delving deep into Taylor’s artistry and methodology as an actress, the show will explore her captivating presence on the silver screen and her transformative impact on the dynamic between audiences and celebrities. Furthermore, it will highlight her evolution into a formidable business tycoon, activist, and champion for various causes. “Elizabeth Taylor was unapologetically herself, a fighter,” said Kardashian. “She is proof that you can keep evolving and changing and have different chapters in your life – and she paved the way for all of us who came after her with that blueprint.” BBC Commissioning Editor Alistair Pegg said the series “promises a new understanding of Elizabeth Taylor – both her technique and power as an actor, and her capacity for reinventing herself.” In a recent venture, Kardashian took on the role of Siobhan Corbyn in Ryan Murphy’s newest addition to American Horror Story. Additionally, she’s collaborating once again with Murphy for a legal drama on Hulu. Furthermore, Kardashian is set to star in and produce “The 5th Wheel,” a comedy project centered around female protagonists.
