Edward Bluemel, well recognised for role in ‘Sex Education’ and “Killing Eve” is all set to star in Netflix’s upcoming Agatha Christie series “The Seven Dials Mystery,” according to Variety exclusive report.

Bluemel, who was recently seen as the brooding love interest in Amazon’s “My Lady Jane,” will star alongside “How to Have Sex” breakout Mia McKenna-Bruce, who leads the series as Lady Eileen “Bundle” Brent. Set in 1925, “The Seven Dials Mystery” follows a lavish country house party where a practical joke takes a deadly turn. Bluemel will play Jimmy Thesiger, a charming and witty man who becomes Bundle’s ally in unraveling the chilling plot. The cast also includes Helena Bonham Carter and Martin Freeman.

The series is written by Chris Chibnall, creator of “Broadchurch” and former “Doctor Who” showrunner. Executive producers include Suzanne Mackie of “The Crown” under her Orchid Pictures banner, Chris Sussman (“Good Omens”), and Chibnall through his company Imaginary Friends. James Prichard of Agatha Christie Limited and Andy Stebbing are also executive producers, with Joanna Crow as series producer. Chris Sweeney (“The Tourist,” “Back to Life”) will direct and also serve as an executive producer.

“The Seven Dials Mystery” marks the first announced series from Orchid, which Mackie established in 2020 under a deal with Netflix after her tenure at “The Crown” producer Left Bank Pictures.

In addition to “The Seven Dials Mystery,” Bluemel has a lead role in Hulu’s upcoming limited series “Washington Black” alongside Sterling K. Brown and will appear in the BBC drama “We Might Regret This.” He is represented by Sugar23, Hamilton Hodell, Sloane Offer Weber & Dern, and Viewpoint.
