Mister Smith Entertainment has secured additional sales for the highly anticipated body horror feature Grafted, extending the film’s global footprint following its premiere at the Sitges Film Festival in Spain, according to Variety exclusive. Directed by Sasha Rainbow, the film has drawn significant interest from international buyers, with Shudder already acquiring rights for North America, the U.K., and Ireland. Grafted has also been picked up by several distributors across diverse regions. Spain’s Twelve Oaks has claimed rights for the domestic market, while Front Row Entertainment has secured the film for the Middle East. Blitz has acquired the film for Ex-Yugoslavia, Forum Film for Poland, and The Film Group for Greece and Cyprus. Active Cinema Group will handle distribution in CIS, the Baltic States, and Ukraine, with Superfine Films taking on the Indian market. Ricochet Digital Media will bring Grafted to airlines worldwide. This marks a strong start for Grafted, the directorial debut of Rainbow, whose previous short film Kamali earned a BAFTA nomination and was long-listed for an Oscar. The film’s success in garnering broad international interest speaks to its wide appeal and potential impact on the horror genre. With this weekend’s screening at Sitges further boosting its visibility, Grafted is positioning itself as one of the most intriguing horror films of the year, thanks in part to its disturbing yet captivating premise and Rainbow’s innovative storytelling.
