“The Night Agent” season 2 trailer out; Gabriel Basso returns as Peter Sutherland

Peter Sutherland is back, and this time the stakes are even higher. As the trailer for Season 2 of The Night Agent released, it gives fans a glimpse of the action-packed missions ahead for the newly minted Night Action agent, played by Gabriel Basso.

The intense teaser showcases Peter in full throttle—jumping into rivers, engaging in hand-to-hand combat, and taking daring risks to protect national security. Joining him once again is Rose Larkin, the cybersecurity expert he protected in Season 1, and Kari Matchett as President Michelle Travers, whose life the duo saved in the previous season.

The plot thickens for the Netflix drama with the introduction of a new threat. As Peter ominously declares in the trailer. “We have a mole selling leaked American intelligence to the highest bidder, and last night someone stole enough experimental weapons to wipe out Manhattan,” he said in the trailer.

The trailer also introduces Amanda Warren as Catherine Weaver, Peter’s new Night Action boss, who is both an ally and an obstacle. One charged scene sees Peter confronting Weaver, said, “I’m doing this myself. Shoot me or get out of my way.”

Season 2 brings fresh additions to the cast, including Berto Colon, Louis Herthum, Arienne Mandi, Brittany Snow, and Teddy Sears. With filming in New York and Thailand, the series promises a globe-spanning narrative with heightened stakes and explosive action.

Based on the novel by Matthew Quirk, The Night Agent continues to be helmed by creator and showrunner Shawn Ryan under his MiddKid Productions banner. The executive production team includes David Beaubaire, Seth Gordon, Julia Gunn, and others.

After being Netflix’s most-watched series of 2023, The Night Agent has already been renewed for a third season. Filming for Season 3 is set to kick off in Istanbul, followed by a New York shoot in 2025. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television.
