Bhooth Bangla, starring Akshay Kumar and directed by Priyadarshan, has crossed the ₹117 crore mark at the worldwide box office within just five days of its release, signalling strong audience turnout despite mixed critical reception.

The film opened with ₹12.25 crore on its first day, followed by a steady rise over the weekend with collections of ₹19 crore on Day 2 and ₹23 crore on Day 3. While earnings dipped on its first Monday to ₹6.75 crore, the film regained some momentum on Tuesday, collecting ₹7.65 crore net in India, according to trade estimates.

So far, the film has recorded ₹72.40 crore in India net collections and ₹86.21 crore in gross earnings domestically. Overseas, it has added ₹31.50 crore, including ₹2.50 crore on Day 5, taking its total worldwide gross to ₹117.71 crore.

Released on 17 April, with paid previews beginning a day earlier, the film benefited from a strong opening weekend and sustained interest during weekdays. Its performance is particularly notable given competition from Dhurandhar 2, which had been dominating theatres since its release on 19 March.

Industry observers attribute the film’s success to the reunion of Kumar and Priyadarshan, a combination known for delivering popular comedies, as well as its appeal among family audiences.

The film features an ensemble cast including Paresh Rawal, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav, Rajesh Sharma, Jisshu Sengupta, Mithila Palkar, Wamiqa Gabbi, and veteran actor Asrani in what marks his final screen appearance.

With a solid opening week and strong global numbers, Bhooth Bangla has established itself as one of the notable box office performers of the season, maintaining momentum despite competition and varied reviews.
