Prime Video has announced an expanded broadcast slate for the 2026 Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) season, marking a significant step in its partnership with the league as it celebrates its 30th year.

The streaming platform will air 30 exclusive regular-season games, along with the Commissioner’s Cup Championship and, for the first time, select postseason matchups. Coverage begins on 14 May, when the Minnesota Lynx face the Dallas Wings, followed by a second game featuring the New York Liberty and expansion side Portland Fire.

As part of its enhanced offering, Prime Video will introduce new studio programming, including a pregame show, WNBA on Prime Pregame, and a postgame analysis segment, WNBA Nightcap. On doubleheader nights, additional coverage will bridge games with The Crossover, providing continuous live analysis.

“We are thrilled to expand our partnership with the WNBA, and are excited to deliver comprehensive coverage that celebrates the game and tells the stories of these amazing athletes” said Jared Stacy, Prime Video VP of Global Live Sports Production. “As the WNBA enters its 30th season, we look forward to honoring the league’s rich history while providing insightful analysis and compelling storytelling about today’s game and stars.”

The schedule will highlight some of the league’s biggest names, including Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever, Breanna Stewart of the Liberty, Paige Bueckers of the Wings, Angel Reese of the Atlanta Dream, and A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces.

Prime Video will also continue to broadcast the Commissioner’s Cup Championship, scheduled for 30 June, and expand into playoff coverage with one first-round series this season, alongside future commitments to semifinal series and WNBA Finals under its long-term agreement.

In addition, the platform will act as a digital distributor for WNBA League Pass, offering live and on-demand games to viewers in the United States and internationally.

The 2026 season coverage will include a range of interactive features designed to enhance the viewing experience. These include real-time statistics powered by AWS, AI-driven highlights such as Key Moments and Rapid Recap, customizable Multiview options, and integrated shopping for official merchandise. Streaming will also feature high-definition video, surround sound, and low-latency production.

Games will primarily be broadcast on Thursday nights, with select matchups scheduled on Saturdays and one Tuesday slot.

With expanded programming, star-driven matchups, and new interactive tools, Prime Video’s coverage aims to deepen fan engagement while reinforcing the growing global appeal of the WNBA.
