  • ARG 1-0 URU

Full time: Argentina wins the game 1-0 against Uruguay. Uruguay put up a very disappointing performance while Argentina worked hard to earn those points and come out as a deserving winner reaching on top of the table with 4 points followed by Paraguay with the same.

Half time: A goalless first half of this much awaited game. More or less a disappointing and disjointed first half of the game though Muslera was tested by Di Maria. Uruguay seemed to be picking up by the end of the half but the half belonged toArgentina in terms of attacks and possession.

45+1′ – Mascherano yellow carded for his sliding tackle on Rodeiro.

42′ – A foul by Aguero on Godin gets Uruguay a free kick.

Argentina look good going forward but are currently missing a good final ball and finishing.

34′ – Superb work by Messi to pass the  ball to Pastore but a poor final ball by Pastore towards Rojo which is anticipated well and collected by Muslera.

32′ – Lodeiro goes into the referee’s book with a yellow to his name.

30′ – CLOSE! M. Pereira doing some good work with the ball and giving a wonderful cross in the centre to Rolan who heads the ball but it goes just wide.

Argentina attacking more from the right with Messi being the centre of the attack while Uruguay is defending well on the outset but with Argentina’s quality, Uruguay are currently just surviving the game.

26′ – Di Maria fouled by Rolan on the half of Uruguay’s half. Messi takes it and is handled well by Uruguay defence.

25′ – CLOSE! A beautiful cross by Messi to Aguero who heads it straight but is well saved by Muslera.

Uruguay is just putting away the ball hastily after winning it through good strong defending. Uruguay need to find more of the ball.

22′ – CLOSE! A move started by Cavani and a beautiful pass by Lodeiro in the centre looking for Rolan who jumped but couldn’t connect his head to the ball.

21′ – Wonderful run and pass by Messi to Pastore who eventually strikes it slightly loose that is easily collected by Muslera.

20′ – Messi takes the free kick which is kicked up by Cavani that is calmly collected by Muslera.

19′ – A foul by A. Pereira on Messi just outside the penalty box on the right gets Argentina a well positioned free kick.

Argentina is seeing much more of the ball than Uruguay. Uruguay can’t seem to be able to keep the ball for long.

16′ – Messi bursts into a good energy run but is well handled by Uruguay.

14′ – Good skill by Aguero(ARG) but Godin(URU) blocked him well to defending his half.

12′ – Good pass by Rojo to Di Maria who goes for a goal but his curling strike goes wide. Passing to Aguero who was in the centre could possibly be a better move.

11′ – Good defending by Otamendi as he jumped high to head the ball clear.

9′ – Good pass by Pastore to Di Maria who goes for a strike from the right but a good save by Muslera(URU).

7′ – Panicky defence by Uruguay as Argentina goes forward with some good passing.

6′ – Good pass by Messi to Aguero who makes a good angled run but strikes the ball wide.

4′ – Good play between Pastore and Di Maria who then passes the ball to Messi who loses the ball.

3′ – Cavani is being marked by Otamendi at the moment.
