Full time: Argentina proceed to the next stage standing top of the group. Argentina had to work really hard to win this and it has to be a very unconvincing by the tournament’s favourites. Jamaica tried hard and did bring on some very nervy moments for Argentina towards the end but lacked the finish that they needed to compete with Argentina.
90+2′ – Zabaleta booked.
88′ – Brilliant stuff by McCleary.
86′ – Very good ball to Mascherano to Zabaleta who passes on to Tevez who hits it wide off target. That was a great opportunity!
This game has truly been wonderful for Di Maria. Some wonderful touches by him including that decisive assist of his for Higuain’s goal.

83′ – A wonderful build up play by Jamaica but a very loose finish by Barnes.

56′ – Terrible stuff my Hector to take charge of a keeper’s ball and present it to Messi. Messi strikes it to chip it over Miller but Miller with that stretched and wonderful save.

53′ – Hector booked for his foul on Messi and a free kick to Argentina just outside the box.
52′ – Excellent strike by Di Maria that comes off the bar. So unlucky!

Half time: Frustration for Argentina as they go into the half time with just 1 goal to Jamaica’s nil. Jamaica managed to keep themselves alive somehow as Argentina couldn’t finish their good moves apart from the 1 goal.
41′ – Superb on target strike by Di Maria and wonderful save by Miller as he got his fingertips to it.
36′ – Good combination among the Argentinians. Clumsy defending by Jamaica. Higuain’s shot is deflected for a corner.
32′ – A clumsy challenge by Watson on Pastore gets him booked.
31′ – Good chance for Jamaica as Morgan heads the ball over the bar.
28′ – Di Maria is penetrating the Jamaican midfield and defence brilliantly.
23′ – CLOSE! Higuain shot goes bouncing off the crossbar.
21′ – Good passing between the Argentinian as Zabaleta takes the final strike that goes for a corner.
16′ – Jamaica rush for a counter attack but the Argentinian defence closed down well.

11′ – GOAL! Di Maria with a fabulous incisive pass to Higuain that Higuain finishes with a good turn.
7′ – Many early chances for Argentina and Jamaica is only surviving.
