Full time: An equal game between both teams and with this match ending in a draw, Paraguay advances to the quarterfinals and Jamaica goes out of the contest. Uruguay survive with a chance of qualification.

81′ – Molinas booked for his obvious foul on Rolan after his needless play.

74′ – Álvaro Pereira booked for his ugly tackle on Gonzalez.

71′ – Coates booked for his foul on Valdez.

44′ – A superb corner delivery by Benitez and Barrios heads it brilliantly. And the game is on.

37′ – CLOSE! A superb corner by Sanchez headed once again superbly by Gimenez but a brilliant one hand save by Villar. Excellent stuff! 

36′ – CHANCE! A superb cross by Rolan to Coates who was onside but couldn’t judge the ball correctly and fell short of heading it.

33′ – Paraguayan throw-in in the penalty was a good opportunity but good collective block by Uruguay eventually cleared by Cavani.

29′ – GOAL! Gimenez heads the corner kick by Sanchez brilliantly. So powerful that none had a reply to it.

28′ – Uruguay finds a good space to go for a strike but the late reaction ultimately easily pushed the ball away.

26′ – Desperate defending by Hernandez as Paraguay free kick gets them in a good position to score.

20′ – Foul on Valdez by Hernandez in the Paraguay penalty area. 

13′ – Corner for Paraguay and they go close to scoring. Valdez heads the corner kick towards right which is headed over.

11′ – Uruguay get a corner through M. Pereira.

9′ – Ortigoza booked for his foul on Rios. Free kick for Uruguay.

4′ – Paraguay get the first free kick of the game from a little ahead of the half line.
