Jack Black Says Ruby Roundhouse Is Going To Change in Jumanji: The Next Level!

Jumanji fans were given a treat when the first trailer for ‘Jumanji: The Next Level’ (2019) was released. Fans are dissecting anything and everything about the trailer to try and piece together what the adventure franchise has in store for us next – but one thing that has been noted is that Ruby Roundhouse (Karen Gillan) is the only character who hasn’t changed since the last movie.

It appears that the rest of the cast will be changing to brand new experiences as their avatar but Ruby is still going to be controlled (physically in the game) by Martha (Morgan Turner).

However, co-star Jack Black had something to say a few months bac that can give hope to fans that Ruby isn’t going to be following the same storyline with no character arc. He said, “Also, I should say that Karen is kicking ass in the new Jumanji. Your character has evolved and now you’ve got more stuff and rad stuff to do this time. I can’t say what, because that would be spoiler alerts.” The statement was made during filming while Karen and Jack gave fans an insight into what they could expect from the third installment. He even mentioned that the trailer is withholding details on purpose.

It’s understandable that Sony are being cautious in what they reveal – when ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’ (2017) was first announced, it was something that people went to see to check if it was just another naff reboot of a classic. However, it surprised everyone when it made $962.1 million in box office. But can they beat that with the third film? We will wait and see on the 13th of December, 2019.
