Director Kristoffer Borgli is set to reunite with A24 following the success of his recent film “Dream Scenario,” and has reportedly secured two major stars for his next project. According to Deadline report, Zendaya and Robert Pattinson are in early negotiations to lead Borgli’s upcoming film, “The Drama,” which A24 will finance and produce. Borgli will direct and has also written the script.

Producing under the Square Peg banner are Ari Aster, Lars Knudsen, and Tyler Campellone. While specific details of the project remain under wraps, rumors suggest it revolves around a romance that takes an unexpected turn just before a couple’s big day. This film marks another collaboration between Square Peg and A24, following successful partnerships on films such as “Hereditary,” “Midsommar,” and “Dream Scenario,” as well as the forthcoming “Death of a Unicorn,” starring Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega, and “Eddington,” featuring Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, and Emma Stone.

Following the acclaim for “Dream Scenario,” A24 was keen to work with Borgli again. The project gained significant momentum when Zendaya expressed strong interest in starring, with Pattinson joining the negotiations shortly after. While final deals are still pending, the film has quickly become a top priority for the studio.

Zendaya has had a remarkable year, beginning with “Dune: Part Two,” which grossed over $700 million worldwide. She also starred in the tennis drama “Challengers” for Amazon MGM Studios, alongside Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor, a film that received strong reviews and grossed $94 million globally, including $50 million domestically. She is expected to return to her Emmy-winning role in HBO’s “Euphoria,” with filming set to start in early 2025.

Pattinson, known for his role in “The Batman,” will next appear in Bong Joon Ho’s “Mickey 17” and is about to start production on Lynne Ramsay’s “Die, My Love.”

Zendaya is represented by CAA, Monster Talent Management, and Andre Des Rochers at Granderson Des Rochers, while Pattinson is represented by 3 Arts Entertainment, WME, Curtis Brown, and Sloane, Offer, Weber, and Dern. Borgli is represented by UTA, and Square Peg is represented by WME.
