Will Smith and director Michael Bay are looking to team up once again as both are in negotiations to direct Fast and Loose, an upcoming action-thriller for Netflix, with Smith slated to take the lead role, as per Deadline exclusive. This project would mark their collaboration nearly after three decades on Bad Boys, which was Bay’s feature film debut. The plot centers around a man who wakes up in Tijuana with no recollection of his identity. As he unravels the mystery of his past, he discovers he has been living a double life: one as a ruthless crime boss, and the other as an undercover CIA operative. The script was penned by Jon Hoeber, Erich Hoeber, Chris Bremner, and Eric Pearson. Smith will also serve as a producer alongside Kelly McCormick and David Leitch under the banner of 87North. Jon Mone and Ryan Shimazaki are negotiating to produce for Westbrook Studios, while James Lassiter is also attached to the project. Executive producers Robert Simonds and Noah Fogelson from STXfilms, along with Barry Waldman, will round out the production team. While Smith is set to appear in Sony Pictures’ sci-fi thriller Resistor, based on the novel Influx by Daniel Suarez, Bay is reportedly developing the internet meme Skibidi Toilet into a TV and film project with former Paramount president Adam Goodman.
