SZA, leading nominee for Grammys 2024, joins performer lineup

SZA, Grammy winner and the leading nominee for the 66th edition Grammy Awards, is the latest star to join the performer lineup. The singer-songwriter leads the nominee race with nine nominations – Album of the Year (SOS), Record of the Year (“Kill Bill”), Song of the Year (“Kill Bill”), Best Progressive R&B Album (SOS), Best R&B Song (“Snooze”), Best R&B Performance (“Kill Bill”), Best Traditional R&B Performance (“Love Language”), Best Melodic Rap Performance (“Low”), and Best Pop Dup/Group Performance (“Ghost In The Machine”).

She now joins performers Burna Boy, Luke Combs, Billie Eilish, Billy Joel, Dua Lipa, Joni Mitchell, Olivia Rodrigo, Travis Scott, and U2.

The 66th annual Grammy Awards will be held on February 4 at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena. It will be aired live on CBS and Paramount+.

For Mitchell, who has nine Grammys, it will be the first time that she will be performing on the grandest stage of all, at 80 years old. For the 66th edition, she’s been nominated in the Best Folk Album category.

In 2022, Mitchell received a Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award, and was described as “one of the most important female recording artists of the rock era” and “a powerful influence on all artists who embrace diversity, imagination and integrity.”

22-time Grammy winner U2 will be giving a special performance from Sphere in Las Vegas. It will be the first-ever broadcast performance from the new venue.

Previously, U2 opened for the 2009 edition at Staples Center with a performance of “Get on Your Boots.”
