Mayan Lopez, best known for her role in NBC’s comedy Lopez vs. Lopez, has joined the cast of the upcoming supernatural thriller The Evilry, as per Deadline exclusive. The film cast include Brec Bassinger, Elena Kampouris, Dylan Walsh, and Academy Award winner Faye Dunaway.

Lopez, who also serves as an executive producer on the project, will portray Aimee, the owner of a spiritual bookstore, alongside Dunaway’s character Anastasia, a spiritualist in the town. “Anastasia acts as a bridge of enlightenment, coming to the aid of Crystal and guiding her to the revelation behind her cousin and her dark secret,” the production team shared.

The movie, directed and written by Alexander Garcia, promises to be a coming-of-age thriller with a supernatural twist. While the plot remains largely under wraps, Bassinger leads the narrative, with Kampouris playing a visiting relative who harbors a mysterious and dark secret.

The cast also includes Tony Pierce, Evan Ross, Marissa Reyes, Teri Polo, and more. Production is set to kick off next month in West Virginia.

The film is being produced by Multi-Valence Productions, Anne Stimac, Allegheny Image Factory, ZaZa Rev Motion Pictures, Fabian Alomar, and Callosum Studios while the Coven has acquired worldwide distribution rights.

Lopez, who is currently in the third season of Lopez vs. Lopez, brings her creative vision to The Evilry as both an actor and executive producer. The sitcom, which she co-created, is inspired by her relationship with her father, comedian George Lopez.
