The dispute surrounding Ranveer Singh’s reported exit from Don 3 has taken a significant turn, with the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) withdrawing its non-cooperation directive against the actor after receiving a legal notice from his team.

The decision was announced on Wednesday following discussions involving key industry bodies, including the Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA), the Producers Guild of India (PGI) and the Cine & TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA).

FWICE president BN Tiwari confirmed that the organization had decided to revoke its earlier action with immediate effect. He said, “We are taking back our non-cooperative directive from immediate effect after a request by IMPAA, the producers’ guild and CINTAA.”

Tiwari added that industry stakeholders had advised all parties to resolve the matter through dialogue. “We have been told that we should all sit together with the producers’ body and take an appropriate decision where the producers, directors, and the actor don’t face any issue,” FWICE president BN Tiwari told reporters here.

Emphasizing that the matter remains under review, he said, “No one has won or lost in this matter. Our legal department will respond to his legal notice.”

The non-cooperation directive was originally issued on 25 May after filmmakers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani reportedly lodged a complaint with the Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA), which subsequently referred the issue to FWICE for further action.

The controversy stems from Singh’s reported departure from Don 3, the latest installment in the popular action franchise. The project has reportedly been in development for nearly three years and has yet to begin principal photography. According to the producers, more than ₹45 crore has already been invested in the film’s pre-production process.

While Singh has not publicly commented on the dispute, his spokesperson recently released a statement stressing the actor’s respect for those involved with the project and the wider film industry.

“Throughout the recent developments surrounding Don 3, he has consciously chosen to maintain silence, believing that professional discussions and personal equations are best handled with dignity, maturity, and mutual respect,” the statement said.

The withdrawal of the directive marks a de-escalation in the conflict, though discussions between the actor, producers and industry bodies are expected to continue as stakeholders work toward a resolution regarding the future of Don 3.
