Sara Amini, known for her role in AMC’s Lucky Hank, has been cast in a major recurring role in the untitled espionage techno-thriller series from James Wan, set to premiere on Peacock, according to Deadline exclusive report. The series, starring Simu Liu, is set just five minutes into the future and follows the story of Alexander Hale (played by Liu), a first-generation American intelligence analyst who discovers that his brain has been hacked. This intrusion allows unknown hackers to access everything he sees and hears, forcing him into a high-stakes battle between his shadowy agency and the mysterious hackers targeting him. Amini will portray Ellie, a key administrative support character who works closely with Alexander on his covert operation. The cast also includes Melissa Barrera (In the Heights), Sinclair Daniel (The Other Black Girl), Brian d’Arcy James (Spotlight), Mark O’Brien (City on a Hill), and Kathleen Chalfant (Wit). The series is created and written by Thomas Brandon (Legacies), with Jennifer Yale (See, Outlander) serving as co-showrunner and executive producer. In addition to starring, Simu Liu will executive produce alongside James Wan, Michael Clear (M3GAN), Rob Hackett (Archive 81), and others. Jet Wilkson directs the first two episodes. Amini, who most recently appeared in CSI: Vegas, is repped by Gersh, Vault Entertainment, and Yorn, Levine, Barnes. The series is produced by UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group.
